ARH Breast Imaging Center Receives Perfect Mammography Rating
The Radiology Department at Alleghany Regional Hospital (ARH) received a perfect score during their annual facility inspection under the Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA). The results of the inspection held September 27, 2005 revealed an All Items In Compliance rating, which is indicative of 100% compliance, the highest rating possible. The announcement came from the Food and Drug Administration, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
The intensive inspection compares specific items in six major areas to include equipment performance, technologist QC, medical physicist surveys, personnel qualifications, medical reports and outcome audits.
The report showed that all areas reviewed at ARH are in compliance with required standards. The philosophy of the MQSA and its implementation, through standards and inspections, is to support continuous improvement in mammography services.
